StayReel

1. Introduction
StayReel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the StayReel mobile application (the “App”).
By using StayReel, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
StayReel is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
- Email address — collected when you create a StayReel account, used for authentication.
- Subscription status and entitlement data — such as whether you are on Free, Trial, Pro, monthly, yearly, or lifetime access.
- Purchase-related metadata — such as product identifiers, renewal status, expiration dates, and transaction status information provided by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. StayReel does not receive your full payment card details.
2.3 Instagram Account Data
- Instagram username — used to identify your connected account within the App.
- Instagram session token — provided directly by you (never your password). This token is used solely to retrieve your follower and following lists on your behalf. It is encrypted at rest and never shared with third parties.
2.4 Snapshot Data
- Follower and following usernames — captured once per 24-hour period at your request. This data is used to compute changes over time (new followers, lost followers, mutual follows).
2.5 Derived Metrics
- Follower and following counts, mutual follow counts, net change values, weekly summaries, and growth streak data — computed from your snapshot data.
2.6 Usage Data
- Basic technical information such as app version, device type, and error logs may be collected for diagnostic and improvement purposes. We do not collect precise location data.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Instagram passwords (ever, under any circumstances)
- Direct Messages, post content, story data, or any Instagram engagement data
- Full payment card information directly (subscription billing is handled by Apple App Store and/or Google Play, with subscription infrastructure provided through RevenueCat)
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account
- Process and manage subscriptions, purchases, renewals, restorations, and entitlements
- Capture and store Instagram follower snapshots at your direction
- Compute and display follower trends, weekly summaries, and growth streaks
- Improve and debug the App
- Send service-related communications (such as account or security notices)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising profiling. StayReel does not currently serve third-party advertisements.
- Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database platform. All data is stored in the United States.
- Your Instagram session token is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.
- Access to your data is restricted by authentication and role-based access controls.
- We use HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit.
While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not liable for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
5. Third-Party Services
StayReel uses the following third-party services which may process your data as described in their respective privacy policies:
- Supabase (supabase.com) — database, authentication, and backend infrastructure
- RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — subscription management, entitlement status, and purchase restoration infrastructure
- Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution, billing, and subscription processing; subject to Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies
We do not share your Instagram session token, follower data, or derived metrics with any third party for their own independent advertising or commercial profiling purposes.
6. Data Retention
- Your account data and snapshots are retained for as long as your account remains active.
- You may delete your account at any time within the App (Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion, all stored data associated with your account — including snapshots, follower data, and derived metrics — is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Anonymized aggregate data (not linked to your identity) may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Disconnect your Instagram account at any time, which removes your stored session token
- Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children’s Privacy
StayReel is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has used our App, please contact us at mahranandrew@gmail.com.
9. Instagram Disclaimer
StayReel is an independent tool not affiliated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Use of StayReel is governed solely by this policy and our Terms of Service. Your use of Instagram through StayReel remains subject to Instagram’s own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
We retrieve follower and following data using your session token as a convenience on your behalf. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of StayReel complies with Instagram’s terms. We are not responsible for any action taken by Instagram against your account, including account restrictions, suspensions, or bans.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this document and provide notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
